1947 AMERICAN FLYER AD
1947 AMERICAN FLYER AD
Nice ad but what really intrigued me was the content--the Gilbert Hall of Science. Got to see what's out there on that.

Re: 1947 AMERICAN FLYER AD
The PRR pacific was my favorite locomotive by them, with the 4-8-4 a close second.
The NYC Hudson was nice, too. They were actually pretty good models for their era, very solid and powerful.

Re: 1947 AMERICAN FLYER AD
The AF S-gauge Hudson is a really nice representation of the NYC locomotive...proportionally I like it better than Lionel's much-vaunted version in O-gauge. The same casting was used by AF just before WWII for an O-gauge version. Both are sharp!

Re: 1947 AMERICAN FLYER AD
AF used to say that one reason they went to 3/16" was that most of their "O gauge" castings were about 3/16" anyway. I haven't seen the O gauge 3/16" diecast locomotives, though.
