Trains-N-TownsTM, the Official Newsletter of BIGIndoorTrains.com and BIGChristmasTrains.com

This newsletter is for people who like O scale trains and Christmas trains, especially people who combine On30 or O gauge trains with collectible villages. It is produced in conjunction with the Big Indoor TrainsTM and Big Christmas Trains web sites.
  • If you did not get this Trains-N-TownsTM newsletter through your own e-mail, and you would like to get the newsletters in the future, please join our Trains-N-TownsTM Mailing List

  • On the other hand, if you don't want to receive our e-mail updates, please e-mail me with a "Please Unsubscribe" message (worded any way you wish), and we will graciously remove you from our list.

  • Also, if you would like to subscribe to our free newsletter for garden railroaders (people running big trains outside), please join the Family Garden Trains Mailing List. By the way, you can subscribe to either, both, or neither, and we will just be glad to be of service, no matter what you decide.

We don't always send out a newsletter when we only have one new article to promote, but this month's new article should be especially useful to many of our readers. Topics discussed in this update include:

Note: We have several new articles in the works, so check our site often.

Indoor Trains Project Idea: "Easy Street Scene"

Tired of blank walls on your storage shelf or indoor railroad? Designer Howard Lamey has created another a project to show how printouts from our Resources section can inexpensively add depth and interest to any indoor railroad, even one with very little space. To see Howard's article, click the following link:

Reminder: Most Limited Edition Baseball Team commemorative trains are still available.Click to see if your team train is available

Our Buyers' Guides promote only ONE line of HO trains, the Hawthorne Village Limited Edition Sports Team Trains. If you're a sports fan, or trying to find a Father's Day present for someone who is, consider a train that includes custom graphics celebrating your team.

In case you wondered, these run on the same track as all other Hawthorne Village trains, Bachmann On30 trains, and Bachmann HO trains. They will also run on 99.9% of all HO railroads. So getting your railroad "in the mood" for game day has never been easier. In addition, all Hathorne Village trains have a 365-day "satisfaction guarantee" from Collectibles Today and a lifetime mechanical warranty from Bachmann, one of the largest model train builders in the world.

Most teams are still available, but they are limited editions, so we can't guarantee that your team will still be here if you wait too long.

Is it Too Early for Halloween?Clicking here won't help because this is just a preview. Stay tuned, and all secrets will be revealed.

If you have enjoyed the cardboard building projects Howard Lamey has been providing, you should really enjoy the Halloween projects we hope to roll out in the next several issues. If you keep up, you could have a complete Halloween Village display by October, with a few simple projects and very little expense. Other Christmas and non-holiday projects are in the pipeline as well. Tell your friends. :-)

We are also looking for more projects that would appeal to the "serious" On30 or O-gauge modeler as well (hint, hint), so stay tuned.

Keep in Touch

We are continually getting more interest in this newsletter, in the site, and in the trains we discuss. We welcome your questions as indicators of what we should be working on next (also, we always try to answer reader questions quickly). In addition, if you have any photos, tips, or articles you'd like to share with your fellow hobbyists, please let us know. The hobby grows best when we all learn together.

In the meantime, have a great spring!

Paul Race
