FROM TRAIN TIME: Hornby No. 1 Buffer Stop

It's funny how, when you start building even the smallest of layouts, that one starts discovering all the little things that go into completing it. Even if you've been down this road before, sometimes trying to get the pulse of what the layout needs is a challenge. Track is a necessity of course, and if you're going to have a spur or siding, then some kind of bumper/buffer will be required as well so the trains don't go rolling into the surrounding countryside. I bought two bumpers - this one and a larger one - and while the larger one looked cool, this one made more sense in the space allotted. http://toyconnect.blogspot.com/2022/02/ ... -stop.html

Those are a tough find, at least for me. Manufactured for the two-rail mechanical line of Hornby trains, I always figured they were more scenic than practical (who can send their clockwork special down a buffered siding?). Still, I'd like to find one or two, along with a nice set of points. Gotta keep searching.
