Post subject:  auto-reversing Streetcar

I am interested in adding the auto-reversing Bachmann (or any other brand) streetcar to my village. I have never run track or any moving car/train etc. and thought this little car would be a good place to start. I am a bit nervous, though. Will I have difficulty adding this? Are there many wires, circuits etc to consider? they would have to be hidden, I'm sure... so could a complete beginner tackle this successfully? And could the track be run on a plaster cloth base? or does it need to be plywood? I build up my displays using plaster cloth over foam.

Thanks for getting in touch.

With the Bachmann autoreversing set, the only wires are the wires from the power supply (which plugs into the wall) to the little shed. That should be easily enough hidden. The track that comes with these is pretty solid, it will keep is shape over slight irregularities. That said, you'd want to keep it level and not TOO bumpy.

You put the track where you want it to go, put the shed on one end, plug it in, set the trolly on the tracks, and turn it on. All the autoreversing stuff is already built in.

Hope this helps.

I'd love to see photos of your village when you have it set up.
