A new project on the pile - a refurbishment for a set of 314X-series Flyer coaches:

Hopefully just a deep-cleaning and a polish.

A reasonably nice Flyer 3008 found recently:

These are tough to find in nice shape. Flyer paint of this era doesn't seem to hold up very well, especially the lighter colors.

Yet another Flyer 3012 boxcar, this in better shape yet:

Wrapping up a big project over the next few months...hoping to get back into the basement soon and get the layout sorted.

From the archives, smoke-box shot of a Flyer 3315:

Haven't been to the basement in quite a while.

A Flyer 3208, one of the last variations of the prewar 1/4" O-gauge box car. This introduced link-couplers as a replacement for the tab-couplers featured on earlier equipment. The link provided an automatic coupling capability, whereas the tab-coupler required manual connection. The black trucks gave a bit more "realism" to the car's appearance.
