Trains-N-TownsTM, the Official Newsletter of BIGIndoorTrains.com and BIGChristmasTrains.com

This newsletter is for people who like O scale trains, especially people who combine On30 or O gauge trains with collectible villages. It is produced in conjunction with the Big Indoor TrainsTM and Big Christmas Trains web sites.
  • If you did not get this Trains-N-TownsTM newsletter through your own e-mail, and you would like to get the newsletters in the future, please join our Trains-N-TownsTM Mailing List

  • On the other hand, if you don't want to receive our e-mail updates, please e-mail me with a "Please Unsubscribe" message (worded any way you wish), and we will graciously remove you from our list.

  • Also, if you would like to subscribe to our free newsletter for garden railroaders (people running big trains outside), please join the Family Garden Trains Mailing List. By the way, you can subscribe to either, both, or neither, and we will just be glad to be of service, no matter what you decide.

Topics discussed in this update include:

Note: This newsletter may seem a little "thin," compared to last month's, but when you take a look at the article links below, you'll see just how busy we've been on "Big Indoor Trains" projects this month, trying very hard to give you lots of "food for thought" this Christmas.

Also, there may seem to be a lot of ads on the margins this issue - sorry, but we've added so many products to our "buyers' guides" that we thought some folks might appreciate a reminder as gift-giving season arrives.

New Articles: "Glitterhouses," and "Building a Glitterhouse"

"Glitterhouse" is our name for those glitter-coated cardboard-and-paper-mache houses we used to set around our Christmas trees, train sets, or nativities. Last month, we published an article on building a Halloween glitterhouse. Interest was so high that we have added, not one, but FOUR related articles - this is on its way to becoming a major feature of this site.

Glitterhouse builder Howard Lamey is providing the directions and photos, and several glitterhouse collectors have provided additional guidance. Take a look at this new addition for a whole 'nudder look at a big, but often forgotten part of many people's Christmas railroad memories.

Keep in Touch

We always try to answer reader questions quickly. Also many reader questions (and their answers) apply to other readers as well. That's why we keep adding entries to our "Letters to the Editor" pages. You may find some interesting and helpful reading there.

In the meantime, HAVE A BLESSED CHRISTMAS SEASON and a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!
