The under-tree display featured a Lionel 290E set from 1936 this year (2024):
All in original form with the exception of the 657 caboose. That was the first O-gauge tinplate refurb I ever did, probably some three decades back at this point. From a time when I wanted everything to look new, I don't have that condition hang-up anymore. The more played-with it looks, the better.
